# Setting up Epona 365 with Draftable Legal

> Connect your document management tenant, open documents for comparison, and save comparison outputs using the embedded file picker.

*Available from version 26.10.0*

You can open documents from Epona 365 in Draftable Legal and save a comparison output back to Epona 365.

Epona 365 is separate from classic Epona (DMSforLegal). You can enable both integrations at the same time. For classic Epona, use the [DMSforLegal integration guide](/hc/en-us/articles/43691959041817-How-to-integrate-Epona-with-Draftable-Legal).

## Prerequisites

* A Draftable Legal licence. This integration is not available with Draftable Business.
* Your organisation's Epona 365 service address, such as `https://epona365.example.com`.

Use the Epona 365 address that hosts the service's SDK. Enter an HTTPS address with no document or folder path, query string, fragment, or embedded sign-in details. Your underlying SharePoint address is not the Epona 365 service address.

## Enable Epona 365 and add a tenant

Epona 365 is off by default. You must enable it and configure at least one valid tenant before you can open or save documents.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the integration settings">
    Open **Settings**, select **DMS Connections** under **Integrations**, then expand **Epona 365**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable Epona 365">
    Turn on the **Epona 365** toggle.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your tenant">
    Select **Add tenant**. In **Add Epona 365 Tenant**, enter your organisation's service address in **Epona 365 SDK base URL**.

    You can enter a **Display name** to identify the tenant. If you leave it blank, Draftable uses the address's host name. Select **Add Tenant** to save it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the default tenant">
    The first tenant you add becomes the default. If you add more tenants, use **Set Default** beside the tenant you want the open and save windows to use.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If your administrator configures the tenant list through Group Policy, you cannot add or remove tenants or change the default. Ask your administrator to update the list.

## Configure through Group Policy

Administrators can use the **DraftableDesktopLegal** administrative template to enable the integration and configure tenants centrally. The policies support both Computer Configuration and User Configuration.

### Enable Epona 365 integration

Enable the **Enable Epona 365 integration** policy. Its registry equivalent is:

```bash theme={null}
Key: HKCU:\Software\Policies\Draftable\Feature
Value name: IsEpona365Enabled
Value type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 1
```

Use `1` to enable the integration or `0` to disable it. The application default is off.

### Configure Epona 365 tenants

Enable **Configure Epona 365 tenants** and enter a JSON array in **Epona 365 tenants (JSON):**. The policy text field allows up to 4096 characters.

```bash theme={null}
Key: HKCU:\Software\Policies\Draftable\Feature
Value name: Epona365TenantsJson
Value type: REG_SZ
Value data: [{"url":"https://epona365.example.com","name":"Example","isDefault":true}]
```

For computer-wide configuration, use `HKLM:\Software\Policies\Draftable\Feature` for both values instead.

A single-tenant list looks like this. Add more objects to the array for additional tenants:

```json theme={null}
[
  {
    "url": "https://epona365.example.com",
    "name": "Example",
    "isDefault": true
  }
]
```

* **url:** The Epona 365 service's HTTPS address. Each usable tenant needs a valid address, following the rules in [Prerequisites](#prerequisites).
* **name:** An optional display label. If it is omitted or blank, Draftable uses the host name.
* **isDefault:** Set this to `true` for the tenant that the open and save windows should use. Mark one tenant as the default. If none is marked, Draftable uses the first valid tenant.

When the tenant policy is enabled, the whole list is managed by your organisation. Users cannot add, remove, or change the default tenant. If the policy is disabled or not configured, users manage the list in **Settings**. Enabling the integration policy alone does not lock the tenant list.

## Open documents for comparison

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose Epona 365">
    In Draftable Legal's file selection controls, choose **Epona 365** to open its document picker.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in and select documents">
    Complete sign-in in the Epona window if prompted, including multi-factor authentication if required. Browse to your documents and select one or several files.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Compare the selected documents">
    Return the selected documents to Draftable Legal, then choose the documents and comparison output you need.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The Epona 365 picker currently accepts `.doc`, `.docx`, `.pdf`, `.ppt`, `.pptx`, `.xls`, `.xlsx`, `.rtf`, and `.txt` files. It does not offer every format supported by Draftable's local file picker, including `.md` files.

### Document versions

Draftable cannot currently retrieve the version history of an Epona 365 document. Its version selection is limited to the version you already opened.

## Save the comparison to Epona 365

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose the output to save">
    Choose a comparison output in PDF, Word (`.docx`), Excel (`.xlsx`), or PowerPoint (`.pptx`) format.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the save window">
    Select **Save to Epona 365**. Draftable opens Epona's save window for your default tenant.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save in Epona">
    Complete sign-in if prompted, choose the destination in Epona, and finish saving. Save one output at a time.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Sign-in behaviour

You sign in the first time you browse or save. Authentication, including MFA, takes place inside Epona's embedded window. The browser retains the sign-in session for reuse. If Epona asks you to sign in again, complete sign-in in that window.

## What is not supported yet

* Epona 365 version history inside Draftable.
* Epona 365 integration through the Office add-ins or 1-Click Compare.
* Reopening Epona 365 documents from Recents.
* Dragging documents from Epona 365 into Draftable.
* Launching an Epona 365 comparison from inside Epona. The classic Epona document links use the separate DMSforLegal integration.

## Troubleshooting

### The tenant address is a SharePoint address

Check **Epona 365 SDK base URL**. It must be the Epona 365 service address, such as `https://epona365.example.com`, rather than an address such as `https://example.sharepoint.com`.

A SharePoint address can be a valid HTTPS address but does not host the Epona 365 SDK. Ask your administrator for the Epona 365 service address. If your organisation manages the tenant list through Group Policy, your administrator must correct it there.

### Epona 365 is not available in the file picker

Check that you have a Draftable Legal licence, the **Epona 365** toggle is on, and at least one tenant has a valid Epona 365 service address. Turning on the toggle without a usable tenant does not enable opening or saving.
