Draftable Legal v26.8.0 is a major update focused on making complex review work easier to compare, navigate, and export. It introduces the Combined Departures Table, expands iManage comparison workflows, and improves reliability across Office add-ins, SharePoint, the viewer, and PDF export.

Core functionality
Combined Departures Table
When you need to review a portfolio of related contracts or follow a negotiation through several rounds, separate pair-by-pair redlines make it difficult to see the overall picture. You need to open each comparison, work out which clauses matter most, and manually bring the findings together.
The Combined Departures Table brings that work into a single workspace. It runs the required comparisons and presents the results in a clause-first grid: clauses are listed down the left, each comparison has its own column, and each cell shows the marked-up change in context. Instead of moving between separate redlines, you can see how the same provision differs across an entire document set.
Choose the right view for your review
The Combined Departures Table supports two review modes:
- Baseline compares one reference document against several other documents. Use it to identify where executed agreements have departed from your standard terms, or where a group of counterparties have negotiated different positions.
- Timeline compares documents in chronological order, with each version compared to the one before it. Use it to understand how a negotiation evolved, which clauses were contested, and where the final position came from.
In either mode, you can sort clauses and comparison columns by the volume of change to surface the areas that need attention first. The Summary panel shows the number of clauses with changes, change volume by clause and comparison, and your review progress.
Turn review into a shareable deliverable
The table supports a structured review workflow rather than simply displaying results. Mark clauses as done, apply status tags, add review notes, and open a specific change in the full Redline Viewer when you need more context.
You can then export the Combined Departures Table to Word or Excel. Review notes and status tags travel with the export, making it easier to share findings with colleagues, supervising lawyers, or clients without recreating the analysis manually.
To get started, choose Redline in Draftable and set up a One-to-Many Comparison to review a baseline document against several alternatives. To follow changes through a sequence of drafts, use a Timeline Comparison instead.
Draftable actions now appear directly in the top-level right-click menu in Windows 11. This reduces the steps needed to start a comparison from File Explorer, without needing to open the legacy Show more options menu.
If the Draftable actions do not appear in the top-level menu, first start Draftable once after upgrading to v26.8.0. Your administrator can also hide these actions using the DisableWin11ContextMenu Group Policy setting. On Windows 10, Draftable continues to appear in the existing right-click menu.
Integrations
Compare multiple iManage versions
iManage users can now compare more than two documents, or versions of a single document, in one workflow. When you select multiple versions, Draftable opens the comparison in Timeline so you can review how the document changes over time.
The Compare Versions action now shows a version picker when a document has more than two versions, instead of importing every available version. Compare with Latest also supports multiple selected documents, and the iManage file picker now lets you select shortcuts from My Favourites.
The iManage integration package has been rebuilt (v4) and must be redeployed to iManage Work to use the new multi-version comparison behaviour.
More reliable Office and SharePoint workflows
All VSTO and COM Office add-ins have been rebuilt to improve reliability. This includes fixes for comparing Word documents already open in Word, and for PowerPoint and Excel selection comparisons. Excel extracts now also include calculated values.
SharePoint sign-in now recovers when an earlier sign-in attempt fails, instead of leaving you unable to continue. The file picker also now paginates and previews folder listings, which reduces delays when browsing large libraries.
Ease of use
A cleaner comparison workspace
Tabs now resize dynamically and overflow cleanly when space is limited. The Recent Files pane has been moved out of the file input box and is now docked, making it available in all modes; to select multiple files, use shift to select a range or control-click to pick specific files. The Redline Viewer also reopens maximised, preserving a more consistent review workspace between sessions.
Build the comparison you need from where you work
When you send content as the older or newer document, Draftable now reuses your active tab instead of opening an additional tab. This makes it easier to keep adding files to the comparison you are building, wherever you start your workflow.
Clearer guidance when a comparison cannot complete
The “unable to complete comparison” dialog now explains that a support ticket is created on completion so Draftable can diagnose the issue.
If you can share them, you can optionally include obfuscated copies of the documents being compared and screenshots to give Support more context. You can also choose whether to receive progress updates by email.
Reliability and export improvements
More dependable PDF and report exports
This release improves reliability when exporting large or complex PDFs. It resolves cases where side-by-side PDF export could hang or cause the comparison engine to fail. Export settings are now consistent between single and Bulk Compare workflows.
More reliable comparison sessions
Draftable now recovers more reliably after a computer sleeps or resumes.
Smoother enterprise deployment and activation
For managed environments, the desktop MSI now installs the HTTP listener by default. License activation also now supports authenticated corporate proxies.
Bug fixes
This release also fixes reported issues across Draftable Desktop:
- Fix for the export dialog header being clipped on high-DPI monitors.
- Fix for the Bulk Compare button being blocked after dragging a file onto an unmatched row.
- Fix for the “unable to complete comparison” message when comparing identical files with Changed Pages Only.
- Fix for comments not displaying in the changelist.
- Fix for Word comments not matching when DurableIds differ.
- Fix for whitespace changes inside smartTag, sdt, or hyperlink wrappers not being detected.
- Fix for errors when deleting a table of contents that contains an sdt in the field span.
- [Word Add-in] Fix for SharePoint paths containing spaces or ”+” not resolving.
- [Word Add-in] Fix for the first of two open documents being dropped from a comparison.
- [Office Add-in] Fix for PowerPoint and Excel selection comparison failures.
