Here’s a quick overview of the five most valuable updates for users:
  • Instantly see changes in text-to-text comparisons with new Live Redline Preview
  • Adjust file version and comparison settings directly in the viewer without leaving your workflow
  • Side-by-Side PDF exports now include embedded change logs, making it easier to review and share comparison results with full context
  • Open a floating comparison window for easier file drag-and-drop, with the option to pin it above other applications
  • Expanded multi-tenant support in iManage to provide greater flexibility and control for firms working across integrated environments
Let’s explore these updates in more detail. But first, a note from our product team Our product improvements are shaped by the insights and feedback of our customers. We’re sincerely grateful for the contributions that made the December release - and every release in 2025 - possible. If you have feature ideas or product performance feedback, we would love to hear from you. Please share any suggestions with us by contacting product@draftable.com.

Core Functionality

Instantly preview redlines between text inputs

Image 1 Redline Preview When using free-text input for both the older and newer content, Draftable now displays a live redline preview instantly in the Compare Selector. This feature uses the redline algorithm to instantly show changes without needing to run a full comparison. Users can copy the output as either a redline or a tracked changes version. This is ideal for fast, lightweight comparisons of clauses, emails, or content snippets shared by colleagues. This functionality streamlines short-form comparisons and reduces time spent waiting for output when comparing plain text.

Improved tag and comment visibility in Departures Table

Notes and tags now appear correctly in the ‘Review Notes’ column of the Departures Table when comments are extracted. This addresses gaps reported by users where comment-based notes were missing in the exported table view.

Ease of Use

Adjust file versions and settings directly within the Viewer

Image 2 Refresh Comparison Users can now swap, switch, or refresh comparison versions directly from within the Draftable Redline Viewer using the new “Adjust Comparison” control. This control adds new functionality and unifies existing controls in one dropdown, allowing for:
  • Switching a document version (e.g. choosing another from a DMS)
  • Swapping the older and newer documents
  • Refreshing to the latest available version
  • Switching Redline Profiles (markup configuration)
All actions can be done without leaving the viewer. Users can choose to re-run the comparison in the same tab or open a new one. This workflow enhancement allows corrections to file selections in just a few clicks, speeding up review cycles.

Side-by-Side PDF exports now include embedded change logs

Image 3 Side By Side Embedded Change Log Side-by-Side comparisons exported to PDF now include the change log embedded as bookmarks in the same document, improving the portability and clarity of shared files. This allows lawyers and reviewers to access both the document and its detailed changes in a single file and jump between changes without toggling between formats.

Open a floating comparison window for easier file drag-and-drop

Image 5 Open New Window A new user setting allows comparisons to be opened and configured in a separate window, giving users more control over how they multitask within Draftable Legal. This dual-window experience enables side-by-side work without disrupting the primary workspace. The new comparison window can be resized and pinned to stay on top of other applications, making it easier to drag files into Draftable from anywhere - such as a DMS, File Explorer, or browser - without having to relocate the main Draftable window. To activate this mode, go to Settings > General > New Comparison and enable the option ‘Show ‘Open Compare window’ button’.

Show header changes only once

Users working with documents containing recurring headers can now limit header markup to the first occurrence only. This reduces clutter in redlines and makes it easier to focus on substantive changes. This option is available in Redline profile settings.

Integrations

Advanced multi-tenant support for iManage

Image 4 I Manage Multi Tenant Draftable Legal has expanded functionality for multiple iManage tenants in a single configuration. Users can now:
  • Add and configure multiple tenants
  • Set a default tenant for comparison workflows
  • View the tenant source of each file (indicated by suffix)
  • Choose which tenant to save files back to
This enables improved support for firms with multiple regions, subsidiaries, or shared environments across clients.

Excel and PowerPoint: Load specific sheets, cell ranges, and slides

Image 6 PPT and Excel Sheets Ranges Draftable now supports precise content selection when comparing Excel and PowerPoint files. Users can choose to load only specific worksheets, cell ranges, or individual slides before running a comparison. This targeted approach reduces unnecessary markup of irrelevant content and improves performance, particularly when working with large or complex files.

Excluding NetDocuments-synced files from ‘Compare with Latest’ in the Word Add-in

To prevent unintended comparisons when working in NetDocuments, Draftable now excludes NetDocuments-synced files from triggering ‘Compare with Latest’ via the Word Add-In. This ensures that local copies synced from NetDocs are not mistakenly compared against themselves or outdated content, improving accuracy and relevance of comparisons.

PowerPoint speaker notes

Improved change detection in PowerPoint comparisons by fixing an issue that prevented list marker changes from being shown correctly in speaker notes.
